Jun Dong Cho, Professor
Jun Dong Cho received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in 1980, 1989, and 1993 from Sungkyunkwan University (Seoul, Korea) in Electronic Engineering, Polytechnic University (NY, USA) in Computer Science, and Northwestern University (IL, USA) in Computer Science (advisor: Prof. Majid Sarrafzadeh, Co-Director of Wireless Health Center, UCLA) respectively. He joined Sungkyunkwan University as an Assistant Professor in 1995. In 2013, he established the new department "Human ICT Convergence" at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). His recent research interests lie in the area of Embedded Low-Power Computing and Human Computer Interaction (Wearable Smart Care). Dr. Cho is a Senior Member of IEEE for his contribution to "VLSI CAD". He has served on the technical program committee of numerous conferences in the area of VLSI Design and CAD.
Professor Cho has published approximately 270 papers, co-authored 5 books, and is a named inventor on 30 patents. Dr. Cho is a Director of External Affair, Korean Society of Design Science since 2013. Dr. Cho has collaborated with many industries in the past 20 years including Samsung Electonics, and CAD industries. He has been the visiting scientist of IBM T.J. Wtson Research Center in 2000.
